Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the problems on reorganization of the autonomous administration district system which is discussed in political area. And the authors were surveyed to the experts who study on local administration in order to evaluate these issues. Consolidation emphasizes on efficiency of administration while separation has a tendency to emphasize local residents's participation. The sampling frame used in the present study was the a list of E-mail addresses among the members of the Korean Association for Local Government Studies. The total target population is 1, 072. Finally, a total of 212 usable questionnaires were collected for a response rate of 19.78 percent. The major findings of this survey shows that the reorganization of the autonomous administration district system should be carried out. Partial reorganization should be the most suitable solution. Also the appropriate time for the promotion should be around 2014.
