초록
This study was conducted to determine the appropriate various DIF (Difference between day and night temperature) for cultivating Cirsium setidens (Dunn) Nakai in a plant factory using artificial light. The C. setidens (Dunn) Nakai was grown under 4 temperature conditions [20/20(0DIF), 18/22(-4DIF), 22/18(+4DIF), 24/16(+8DIF)°C (light/ dark)], and relative humidity 60±10%. The light conditions were set at a light intensity of 250±10 μmol/m2/s and a photoperiod of 12/12 hours (light/dark) with white LEDs. All treatment were supplied with Hoagland nutrient solution at EC 1.5 dS/m, pH 6.5±0.5 using a deep floating technique and a recycling system. In 22/18 and 24/16°C treatments, plant height, petiole length, and leaf length increased, but stem diameter and root diameter results were significantly lower. The results showed that plant height, leaf length, leaf number, leaf area, and the shoot-to-root (S/R) ratio were significantly higher in the 22/18°C treatment. Compared to the 20/20°C treatment, other treatments resulted in approximately 1.4 times higher fresh and dry weights of leaves and stems. The highest root fresh and dry weights were observed in the 18/22°C treatment, measuring 13.1 g and 1.0 g, respectively. The total phenol and total flavonoid content of C. setidens (Dunn) Nakai leaves showed significantly lower values at 24/16°C treatment. Therefore, in order to cultivate C. setidens (Dunn) Nakai in a plant factory using artificial light, controlling the temperature to 22/18 treatment is considered effective for shoot growth and contents of bioactive compound.
