창의‧인성교육을 위한 도덕지능의 함양 방안

본 논문은 2009년 개정 교육과정에서 강조하고 있는 창의‧인성교육의 목표 달성을 위해 도덕교육이 어떻게 역할을 할 수 있을지에 대한 물음에 답하기 위해, 도덕지능의 함양 방안을 탐구하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 창의‧인성교육이 갖는 의미를 분석하여, 창의‧인성교육은 기존의 두 개념을 유기적으로 연계한 것으로 창의성과 더불어 바른 인성과 도덕적 판단력을 함께 구비한 창의 인재 육성을 목표로 한다는 점을 파악하였다. 이어 현행 도덕교육이 창의‧인성교육을 위해 기여할 수 있는 근거를 최근 다양한 지능에 관한 이론 중 학업지능적인 측면이 아닌 도덕적 성숙과 관련된 도덕지능에서 찾아 그 의미와 중요성을 살펴보았다. 또한 다양한 삶과 인간관계 속에서 타인을 배려하고 이해함으로써 더불어 살아가려는 윤리적 마음가짐과 실천적 지혜 및 옳고 그름을 판단하는 능력인 도덕지능은 다양한 지능이 제대로 발휘되고 인생의 올바른 방향을 정립하는 데 중요한 역할을 담당하는 바, 이를 효과적으로 함양하기 위해 도덕지능의 기초에 해당하는 타인에 대한 이해와 배려 능력을 높이기 위해 감성 능력을 활용하는 방안을 제시했다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to find out answers to two questions as follows: One is to find out what is Creativity‧Character Education and what are some relevant reasons which moral education can provide in order to build creativity and character. And the other is to find out the meaning and importance of "Moral Intelligence" and to seek effective ways to apply those theories to elementary moral education. Moral intelligence is the ability to understand, care for other people, to judge morally right or wrong and to do moral behavior. The importance of this moral intelligence are based on the following reasons. First, moral intelligence is the standard for developing the other intelligences. Second, moral intelligence assists for a just life. The purposes of developing moral intelligence are to improve empathy, to expand the ability of judgement and to increase the power of moral execution. Emotional ability is utilized to improve moral intelligence. Among those abilities, it is needed to focus on the empathy factors. After improving the ability to recognize emotion and expanding the vocabulary to express emotion, various games and activities should be followed to reinforce sensitivity and to develop empathy to other people.
