도덕적 향상을 위한 유전자 조작방안 비판: 덕･행복 향상을 중심으로

초록

본 연구는 트랜스휴머니즘 윤리학의 비전 속에서 진행되는 유전자 조작을 통한 덕성 및 행복 향상에 대해 성찰해 보고자 했다. 우선 유전성과 관련해서 유전자 조작 편집의 윤리와 덕공학 프로젝트의 문제를 다루었다. 하지만 유전자 조작 기술의 활용과 관련하여 한계에 대한 비판적 성찰이 필요함을 제시하였다. 특별히 하버마스의 자유주의 윤리학적 관점이나 샌델의 공동체 윤리학적 관점보다는 조터런드와 에피쿠로스, 스토아학파의 덕·행복윤리적 관점에서 인간의 생물학적 특징과 유전적 정보를 직접적으로 변경하는 도덕적 향상의 시도는 한계를 가짐을 제시하였다. 기술적 수단을 동원하여 인간의 본성을 향상시키고 덕성을 키우는 것이 바람직하지 않다고 쉽게 말하기 어려운 차원이 있지만 진정한 인간의 덕과 행복 향상의 문제가 덕·행복교육적 차원에서 용이하지 않음을 제시하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the direction of transhumanism moral education. I tried to reflect on the improvement of morality through genetic manipulation in the claim that the enhancement aimed at advanced science and technology can be applied to human morality. First, I dealt with the issue of morality and the engineering project of genetic engineering in relation to heredity. In addition, we examined whether genetic manipulation enhances morality by examining liberal ethical position and communicative / virtuous ethical critique of genetic manipulation. As a result, we tried to suggest that ethical limitations are important in relation to the application of neuroscience, particularly in the situation where the boundary between treatment and reinforcement is unclear. The attempt to genetically manipulate what is the true way to improve human morality is still limited, and emphasizing the fact that the moral strengthening project of the transhumanism does not elevate human moral conduct ability in the true sense, In the end, we sought to elaborate the necessity of a more sophisticated philosophical reflection on human and social changes set by transhumanism.
