Abstract
This paper aims to clarify these matters connected with Kantian and virtue ethician's interpretations on Kant's view of emotion in relation to his moral theory. Virtue ethics claims that Kant's ethics is in principle a theory that is totally opposed to ethics of virtue, and a moral point of view which should to be overcome because it admits of no cultivating and acquiring of virtue, and what is more, set aside to give agent's emotion an morally important part on doing his action in a seriously sense. But those who criticize or defend Kant's view show commonly a tendency to overestimate or underestimate the fact that Kant's conceptions of the emotion paly important roles in his moral philosophy. In any case the emotions cannot occupy the first position in Kant's moral philosophy and evaluation of morality. But even so, Kant doesn't disregard or exclude the importance of emotions, such as sympathy and love, etc. Just not only about morality, but also emotions does he come up with the strict yardstick. Such example as the happy philanthropist is thought to show it as a truth. It reflects his own comprehension. Therefore there is a need to correctly understand and interpret this implications. I argue that we should accept important parts which sensitivity and emotion play in his virtue theory, but in Kant's moral philosophy not expect them to have positions and play roles such as moral motivation and character which are performing in the virtue ethics.
