최근 각급 학교에서는 멀티미디어 수업이 강조되고 있고 지리 수업 특히 지역지리 수업에서는 매우 중요한 하나의 수업 방법론으로 되어 있다. 그러나 그 관심도에 비해 성공적인 멀티미디어 수업이 이루어지지 못하고 있는 것이 현실이다. 그 원인 중 하나는 멀티미디어 수업의 핵심이라고 할수 있는 콘텐츠 개발이 미흡하다는 점이다.본 연구는 이러한 관점에서 일선 학교에서 실제적으로 활용 가능한 구체적인 멀티미디어 콘텐츠 제작 방법론을 제시하고 실제적인 수업자료를 제공하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 본 연구에서는 구체적으로 라틴 아메리카의 지역지리 강의를 대상으로 하였다. 본 연구에서는 지역지리 강의를 자연지리, 인문지리로 나누어 구조화하고 멀티미디어 콘텐츠는 사진으로 국한하였다. 연구는 현장답사를 위주로 진행되었으며 모두 240매의 사진을 획득, 이중 수업에 활용할 수 있는 사진자료 90매를 선정하였다(표 1). 이중 자연지리 자료는 34매, 인문지리 자료는 56매이다. 본 연구는 하나의 방법론을 제시하는 것이다. 멀티미디어 콘텐츠의 내용이나 그 매수 등은 수업 내용과 분량 그리고 대상에 따라 달라질 것이므로 이를 충분히 고려할 필요가 있다. 최근 많은 전문학회들은 홈페이지를 통해 학술지의 사이버 출판이 추진되고 있는 추세로서 이러한 연구 성과물들은 보다 손쉽게 현장에서 활용될수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
Abstract
This study aims to develop multimedia contents useful for regional geography of Anglo America. First of all, it is necessary to classify lectures for content building. In case of lectures on regional geography, the contents are largely classified, Physical geography and Human geography. Methods of classifying multimedia content types are many and various. Photos are effective in dealing with specific subjects. Photos have been obtained through field work. The field investigation gave an opportunity to obtain 240 sheets of slide photos. Of them, this study selected 90 sheets of photo that are regarded as effective in explaining and understanding the specific subjects and classified them by content(Table 1). This study only suggests a methodology, and details as well as the number of sheets of multimedia content will vary with contents, quantities and targets of lectures.
