Abstract
This study is about the suffering of children. Many children are suffering from adults who misuse their power over children. One of the important influences that shape children's thought and behavior in terms of suffering experience is social values and religious beliefs. Therefore, this study is going to examine ideologies and structures on which children's suffering is based from feminist theological perspective in order to help children who is suffering. Feminist theology is concerned to provide a more inclusve theological framework for dealing with issue of the marginalized within their contexts. It provides that social ecological structure, such as culture, political, and religious beliefs, become the foundation for suffering and social policies because of the interrelationship between them. Children often feel helpless in unilateral relationship with parents and other adults, and certainly their power is minimized and distorted due to Confucian values. Theology of childhood in Korean church in relation to the doctrine of original sin supported the idea of the helpless being of children in the Korean church. All human are sinners because of original sin. It means that children are also sinners and therefore need to repent their sin. This understanding reinforced the understanding of children as helpless being in the Korean church. From a feminist perspective, these understandings are social construction and need to be reconstructed in order to provide effective pastoral care for children. This study suggests that Christian moral virtues that include the community including church must reinforce mutuality being taught and embodied in the home and church
