Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of depression on internet over-dependence in youths after COVID-19 and to verify whether social support plays a buffering role by subdividing it into teacher support, parental support, and peer support. The data of 857 youths in Icheon city were analyzed through SPSS 22.0. There was a positive correlation between depression and internet over-dependence, a negative correlation between parental support and peer support and teacher support, and a moderating effect of teacher support on the relationship between depression and internet over-dependence. On the other hand, parental support and peer support were not statistically significant, indicating that there was no moderating effect. In the relationship between youths' depression and internet over-dependence, the support of parents and peers could not be controlled, and as the COVID-19 situation continued, the relationship between parents and children, and students and students was not intimate. For this purpose, continuous counseling should be conducted so that youths can be supported through counselors at youth-related institutions and school sites.
