역할놀이 중심 STS 수업이 고등학생들의 생물 다양성 지식 성취도와 과학과 관련 태도에 미치는 효과

The Effects of Roleplaying-Oriented STS Lessons on High School Students' Attitudes Related to Science and Knowledge Achievement for Understanding Biodiversity

Abstract

In this research, a STS lesson program was developed and focused on the roleplaying of the unit related to biodiversity of biology. A STS lesson program tried to find out its effects on the attitudes related to science and the achievement for biodiversity in high school students. The subjects of this research were 182 students from 6 different classes in their 2nd year of humanities high school located in the provinces. This research was established 3 classes (91 students) as the experimental group and the other 3 classes (91 students) as the controlled group. The roleplaying-oriented STS lesson program was constructed into 4 phases of invitation to the problem, investigation, explanation and presentation of solution methods and finally, execution. Amongst them, during the phase of explanation and presentation of solution methods, it sought for solution methods through roleplaying in each group. As a result of the field application of the roleplaying-oriented STS lesson program, first, the roleplaying-oriented STS lesson program revealed to be effective in approving the degree of knowledge achievement for biodiversity when compared to the traditional lecture lessons. Secondly, the roleplaying-oriented STS lesson indicated to have positive effects for high school students on their attitudes related to science in comparison to the lecture lesson centered around the textbooks.
