연구 목적: 이 연구는 미국 남장로교 선교 시찰단이 기록한 필름을 통해 중국과 일본에서 선교 현황을 분석함으로써 전후 여전히 전쟁을 치르고 있는 중국, 패전국이자 전범국인 일본에서의 기독교의 대응은 어떠했는지 확인하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 방법: 연구 방법은 시찰단이 기록한 필름 속 이미지와 자막을 중심으로 진행한다. 1946년 중국을 기록한 25분 분량과 1947년 일본을 기록한 12분 분량과 총 자막 108개를 분석한다. 연구 내용: 이 논문의 연구 내용은 제2차 세계대전 이후 중국과 일본의 남장로교 계열의 교육, 의료, 선교 기관의 현황과 대책을 분석하고 선교 정책을 확인한다. 결론 및 제언: 시찰단의 필름을 통해 중국과 일본의 기독계가 자립하여 성장하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었으며 향후, 관련 연구자의 공동 연구가 필요할 것으로 보인다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the current state of missions in China and Japan with the films recorded by the missionary inspection team of the Southern Presbyterian Church in the United States. The research method focuses on the images and subtitles in the films. The research content of this thesis analyzes the current status and countermeasures of Southern Presbyterian-affiliated educational, medical, and missionary institutions in China and Japan after World War II. Through the films, it was confirmed that the Christian world in China and Japan was growing on their own, and joint research by related researchers is needed in the future.
