본 연구는 키워드 네트워크 분석을 활용해 국내 학술지의 ESG 관련 연구 동향을 분석하고자 하였다. 분석대상은 2009년 1월-2022년 2월 발표된 ESG 관련 논문 291편으로, 텍스톰6.0을 활용하여 논문 게재 현황 분석, 키워드 빈도 분석, 토픽모델링을 실시했다. 연구 결과 첫째, ESG 관련 연구는 2009년 첫 발표 후 소강상태를 보이다 2020년부터 급증하고 있으며 주로 경영학, 법학, 재무회계, 경제학 분야에서 연구되고 있었다. 둘째, 주요 키워드는 CSR, 경영, 기업, 거버넌스, 지속가능, 투자, ESG, 환경, 정보, 공시 순으로 나타났다. 셋째, 토픽모델링 분석 결과 ‘ESG 경영전략 및 성과’, ‘ESG 정보공시’, ‘책임투자’ 3개의 토픽이 확인되었다. 본 연구를 통해 ESG 관련 연구 동향을 객관적으로 파악할 수 있었으며, 후속 연구자들이 연구 주제 및 연구 키워드를 파악할 수 있도록 기초자료를 제시하였다는 데 의의가 있다. 전 세계적으로 ESG 관련 연구들이 급증하는 현상을 고려해 볼 때, 향후 국내·외 ESG관련 연구 동향을 비교 분석하는 후속 연구가 필요하다.
Abstract
This study attempted to analyze ESG-related research trends in domestic journals using keyword network analysis. The analysis targets were 291 ESG-related papers published between January 2009 and February 2022, and analysis of the status of thesis publication, keyword frequency analysis, and topic modeling were conducted using Textom 6.0. As a result of the study, first, ESG-related research shows a lull after its first presentation in 2009. It has been increasing rapidly since 2020, and has been mainly studied in business administration, law, financial accounting, and economics. Second, the main keywords appeared in the order of CSR, management, company, governance, sustainability, investment, ESG, environment, information, and disclosure. Third, as a result of topic modeling analysis, three topics were identified: ‘ESG Management Strategy and Performance’, ‘ESG Information Disclosure’, and ‘Responsible Investment.’ Through this study, it is meaningful that it was possible to objectively grasp ESG-related research trends, and basic data were presented so that subsequent researchers could identify research topics and research keywords. Considering the rapid increase in ESG-related studies around the world, follow-up studies are needed to compare and analyze ESG-related research trends in the future.
