Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the changes in the support of Home Childcare during the COVID-19 era and the direction of childcare support in the post COVID-19 era, through empirical testimonies from the parents and the individuals in charge of the Home Childcare Supporting Projects at the Childcare Support Center.Systematic data collection and analysis were conducted through in-depth interviews and target group interviews with five mothers and six workers in charge of the Home Childcare Supporting Projects at Haneul Childcare Support Center. First, the parents in the COVID-19 era perceive the Home Childcare as being family-oriented with universal benefits. Second, the operation system of the Home Childcare Supporting Projects in the COVID-19 era is to improve the quality of Home Childcare Support through changes and diversification of online and offline operation of childcare support. Third, the direction of Childcare Support Center in the post COVID-19 era is to prepare a network of close-tailored childcare system, on and offline customized operation, and spread a shared culture of childcare. The empirical stories of the individuals in charge of the Home Childcare Supporting Projects and the parents are voices that help to enhance the professionalism of the Childcare Support Center’s roles, which can be seen as important perspectives in expanding the Childcare Supporting Projects with superior quality.
