연구 목적: 국내 의료기관 환자안전사고와 관련된 특성을 확인하고 위해정도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하여 의료기관에서의 환자안전사고 예방 및 의료 질 향상을 위한 기초자료를 마련하고자 시도되었다. 연구 방법: 2018년부터 2020년까지 3년간의 환자안전 보고 데이터 총 12,512건을 수집･이용하였고 환자안전사고 위해 정도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하기 위해 R 4.2.0 version program을 이용하여 빈도분석, 교차분석, 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 내용: 환자안전과 관련하여 근접오류, 위해사건, 적신호사건 발생은 성별, 연령, 병상규모, 의료기관 등급, 사고 발생장소, 사고유형, 간호사의 근무 시간에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 결론 및 제언: 환자안전사고 예방을 위해 의료기관 등급 및 부서에 따라 환자안전사고 예방 및 관리를 위한 맞춤형 매뉴얼 개발 및 환류시스템 운영이 필요함을 시사한다.
Abstract
This study was to identify the characteristics related to patient safety accidents in domestic medical institutions and identify the factors affecting the degree of harm in order to prepare basic data for ways to prevent patient safety accidents and improve medical quality in medical institutions. A total of 12,512 cases, excluding incomplete data, were analyzed by selecting incidents from the data covering the last three years (2018-2020) of the ‘Patient Safety Report’. For data analysis, cross-tabulation and binary logistic regression were performed using the R 4.2.0 program. Regarding patient safety, there were statistically significant differences in the occurrence of Near Miss, Adverse Event, and Sentinel Event according to gender, age, bed size, medical institution grade, location where safety incident occurred, type of incident, and nurse duty time. These results suggest that it is necessary to develop a customized manual for preventing and managing patient safety accidents and operate a feedback system in accordance with the pertinent level and department of medical institutions to aid in the prevention of patient safety accidents.
