명(明) 만력(萬曆)년간의 화보(畫譜)와 원본(原本)의 심미적 차이점

본 논문은 명(明)나라 만력(萬曆.1573—1620)년간에 출판된 옛 사람들의 화보(畫譜)를 임화(臨畫)한 것을 연구 대상으로 삼았다. 이로부터 두 가지 의문이 제기되어 본 연구를 시작하였다. 첫째, 옛날 사람들의 그림을 모사한 것이기 때문에 원본(原本)을 충실하게 재현하려는 의도가 있어야 한다. 그러나 사실은 대체로 원작을 수정하거나 가공하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그러므로 그 이유는 무엇인가의 문제이다. 둘째, 화보와 각첩(刻帖)은 모두 묵적본(墨跡本)을 다시 새긴 것이다. 그런데 후대에 이런 화보와 각첩에 대한 평가에는 큰 차이가 있는데 또한 그 이유는 무엇인가에 대한 의문이다. 본 논문은 위의 서로 다른 두 가지 의문을 모두 문인(文人)의 미적 감상에 이중적인 기준이 존재하는 현상으로 인하여 발생하였다고 보았다. 즉 화보와 묵적 원본에 대한 문인의 심미적 판단에는 이중적인 잣대가 존재함을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
In this thesis, the subject of study was imitation of pictorials of old people printed in the Wanli years of the Ming Dynasty. From this, two questions were raised, and this study was begun. First, since these were copies of the paintings of people in the past, there had to be an intention to faithfully reproduce the originals. However, in fact, it was found that the original works were generally modified or processed. What is the reason for this? Second, both pictorials and engraved calligraphies are re-engraved from the originals. However, it is questionable why there are big differences in the evaluation and attitude toward these pictorials and engraved calligraphies in later generations. This paper believes that both seemingly unrelated questions are caused by the phenomenon of double standards in the aesthetic appreciation of literati. In other words, it was found that there was a double standard in the aesthetic judgment of literati on pictorials and the originals.
