Abstract
The effect of animation learning programs(ALPs) upon achievement and change of concept of the topics on reproduction and development of plants in the middle school students (9th grade) was investigated. The topics covered by the ALPs were as follows: (1) formation of the reproductive cell; (2) process of the double fertilization. The contents of the program on plants reproduction comprised formation of the pollen and embryo sac. The contents of the program on double fertilization comprised formation of zygote and endosperm. The results mostly showed significant improvement on the achievement in students of the middle achievement level and change of concept of these events in students of the higher and middle learning levels. The use of ALPs was also of interest to students of the lower scientific achievement level and showed some effect. Therefore, the use of ALPs was effective in learning biological concepts and phenomena.
