초록
The digital image doesn't have the indexity which connects the real world and the image physically. It means that the ontological status of the cinema that mediates the subject and the world has changed. Post cinema is the concept that explains the cinema without the indexity. The post cinema is the broad concept which includes the many new kinds of experimental cinema and genre. So it causes the conceptual confusion when applied to actually. But the essay cinema reduces the confusion. the essay cinema allows the self retrospection and the performance of the author and the freedom of formality. The essay cinema is not identical with the post cinema. But it contains the essential characters of the post cinema. So we can develop the potentials of the post cinema with the concept of the essay cinema. The example of Persepolis(2007) shows this possibility. Persepolis can be seen as the animated documentary or as the trans-media content. When we see this as the essay cinema, we can explain the fusion of medium, the fragmented narrative, the self retrospection and the performance of the author and the new potential of the post cinema.
