교정윤리의 인간관계적 접근 : 교정윤리 논의와 해결의 한 사례 - 마이어스를 중심으로

Abstract

In our country the codes of correctional ethics are not systematically made. So I once proposed the need of such codes before and of more complete discussion of them to best suit our society. I, in this article, first, explained several arguments of the correctional ethics and the intrinsic meanings of the ethical problems between prison officers and prisoners. Second, I, in relation to prison corruption, pointed that the original cause of corruption is formed by the system of the prison management and morality of the prison officers as well. Third, still considering the morality I introduced re-education program for the officers which was performed by Pete Self and Robert D'amico. Lastly I also introduced Laura Myers' program of 'Human Relations Approach" to find a way to solve the ethical problems of the officers in the prison. The difficulty we faced with making the codes of correctional ethics is due to the uniqueness of the environment of prison that is different from other professional ethics of adminstration and police. The correctional ethics especially comes from the important concepts of state, human rights, and human nature and the like. Although my argument in this article is mostly limited because it depends upon the research of the U.S.A. studies, I pleased with the work because I believe that this argument brings to the discourse of correctional ethics of our country.
