초록
The purpose of this study was to compare pre-service science teachers’ perception of practical value of the theory of evolution with American college students. A total of 675 pre-service science teachers (college students) and US college students participated in this study. The ten items on the academic value and the practical value of evolution theory (5-step Likert scale) and I-SEA instrument measuring the level of evolution acceptance were used. As a result, the Korean pre-service science teachers’ perception of the practicality of evolution was lower than that of American college students. In terms of acceptance of evolution, Korean pre-service science teachers showed relatively low acceptance compared to US college students.
