Abstract
The purpose of the study is to understand the limitation of traditional court system and to propose the alternatives from the U.S. cases. Current study aims to provide the bases of setting up the alternative court system insuring the social security and trying various approaches for offenders. This study devises problem-solving court into three factors: court, staff, operation to identify the factors associated with successful program completion. The results show that the more staffs involve the mandatory training and the more court provides session, the more successful completion. However, court with higher percentage of federal fund and with more programs were less likely to show better outcomes. This findings have several implications in Korea; 1)training about therapeutic jurisprudence 2)de-centralized operation/ service concentration 3)voluntary enrollement & fair court operation/early diversion flexible court 5)promote the social norm related to therapeutic jurisprudence
