Film music is worth studying as an independent field of arts. Film music is located between musicology and film study. The technique for film music production and its relationship with other fields of arts is very important in the study of film music. The intrinsic attribute of film music is same as general music, but the function and role of film music is totally different from that of general music. A film music composer must understand the specialty of film music and film production and study the music in relation to the visual, sound effects, dialogue, and etc. in the film itself. The process of film music production is different from common composition. There are various forms of musical elements practicable in film music. Therefore it is necessary to analyze music in accordance with various genres of film. It is necessary to compose film music with the characteristic techniques existing in film music and it will be noteworthy for composers to create new techniques in film music composition from the basics of film music technique.
