통신과 방송 융합에 따른 디지털 방송 표준화 동향에 대한 연구

Abstract

An study on the development of digital broadcasting with communication and broadcasting convergence Kim, Jea Ha Assistant Professor / Digital Arts Division, Seoul Institute of the Arts The current communication technology has been passed the information exchange with the remote correspondent and developed by the Internet. Total number of Internet Users in Korea was already over 31 million person and the total number of mobile communication subscribers was over 38 million person. The development for ubiquitous society that we can communicate in any time, any where, was advanced as the devices such as PDA and PMP which are possible to Internet communication, is distributed. The development of communication technology causes the convergence between communication and broadcasting to be vague. What is called the convergence between communication and broadcasting is already started. The convergence between broadcasting and communication produces the consumption of contents such as music, multimedia by the Internet and the development of broadcasting and multimedia contents is distinguished. The new broadcasting technologies represented as DMB, IPTV has been contributed to development of contents and the existing broadcasting technology has been also rapidly digitalized. The government and related experts devote themselves to their technology development and infrastructure investment that aims at discontinuing the transmission of the existing analog broadcasting until 2010 and converting the whole broadcasting to digitalization. This paper describes the digital broadcasting technology in the convergence environment between communication and broadcasting and estimates the direction for development.
