영화의 관객 정서 형성에 관한 연구: <서치>(2017)의 긴장유발 전략을 중심으로

본 연구는 시각적 내러티브 측면에서 영화의 긴장 조성 원리를 밝히고자 한다. 이는 영화를 인간의 마음에 주목한 쌍방향 커뮤니케이션 매체로서 바라보고, 나아가 영화를 통한 관객의 정서 형성이 갖는 의미를 찾고자함이다. 영화를 통한 긴장의 조성 원리를 규명하기 위해 컴퓨터와 핸드폰을 포함한 전자기기의 화면을 서사의 핵심 요소로 활용한 <서치(Searching)>(2017)를 분석한다. <서치>의 표현방식은 정보전달과정에 있어서 정보의 양과 질 그리고 순서를 통제하기 용이하다. 본 연구는 <서치>의 사례를 통해 신체적 정 서 반응과 인지적 정서 반응이라는 두 가지 정서 반응이 영화에서 어떻게 나타나는지를 확인한다. 또한 <서치>의 연출 기법을 분석하고, 관객에게 긴장이라는 감정을 체험하도록 하는지 알아본다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to clarify the principle of the emotional composition and the tension for the catharsis of the film in terms of visual narrative. This is to look at the film as a two-way communication media that focuses on the human mind, and to find the meaning of the emotional formation of the audience through the film. In order to look at the principle of tension through film, we use Searching(2017) as an example. Searching uses screens of electronic devices including computers and mobile phones, and it is easy to control the information and the order in the process of transmitting movie information. Through the case of Searching, we can see how those two emotional responses, physical and cognitive emotional responses, respond to and appear in movies. In addition, We analyzed the technique of directing Searching and confirmed how to let the audience experience the feeling of tension in this process.
