The purpose of this study was to investigate the perceptions of plant-related occupations and thoughts on plant-related career hopes of elementary school students. In order to find out what kind of thoughts they have about plant-related work places and career hopes, drawing and questionnaire methods were used. As a result of the study, most of the students had a simple and general perception rather than detailed one. And many students were not aware of plant-related occupations as relatively diverse, mainly in the fields of production and cultivation. In addition, slightly more than half of elementary school students thought positively about their plant-related career hopes. However, there were more negative reactions than positive ones. The results of this study are expected to provide useful information to elementary school teachers who are interested in plant-related science career education programs, textbook development, and science career education.
