초록

There is a positive correlation between the enjoyment of green spaces in everyday life and adult well-being. This study aimed to gather primary data on how adults can utilize green spaces as avenues for everyday learning. A face-to-face survey was conducted on 68 adults who visited Gwangjuho Lake Eco Park and Sosweawon. The survey questionnaire comprised three domains: accessibility to the location, perceptions of the green space environment, and attitude toward science. The data showed that visitors highly agreed that a walk in the green space was refreshing and enjoyable. They also had positive perceptions of the ecological environment including smell and sounds as well as livings. On the other hand, their interest in changes in each organism and natural environments was not high. While the willingness to engage personally in science was not high, those who expressed interest in environmental changes demonstrated a high level of willingness. Based on the results, visitors' characteristics were conceptually divided into 'tourists' and 'nature participants'. Additionally, the impact of citizen science on perceptions of green spaces and attitudes towards science were discussed. This research could provide foundational data for understanding informal adult learning in green spaces.

Abstract

There is a positive correlation between the enjoyment of green spaces in everyday life and adult well-being.
