인천항 벌크화물 유치를 위한 개선방안에 관한 연구

Abstract

The aim of this study is to propose improvement factors through a relativecomparison and analysis on bulk cargoes among ports located at a metropolitanarea. Based on the questionnaire analysis about bottleneck problems of Incheon portviewed from export and import, reduction of bulk cargo placed first, severecompetition among handling companies came second. followed by increasingproduction expense. Also, in respect with facilities sand service, the replacement oftime-worn handling equipments was the significant factor to tackle first, theshortage of warehouse through a supply-demand analysis came second and followedby property loss or damage of cargoes. Additionally, in aspect from cost, imposingport tariff against the shippers placed first, short storage time came second, followedby excessive inland transportation cost. As compared with bulk ports located at ametropolitan, it proposed improvement policies to attract bulk cargoes of Incheonport as below. Top priority improvement policies showed it was required to reviewthe replacement of time-worn handling equipments and the shortage of warehousethrough a supply-demand analysis by 2015 in respect with facilities, the reduction ofport tariff through discount and the incentives for the shippers in respect with cost,and to investigate frequent damages of bulk cargoes and bottleneck phenomenon inbulk terminals in respect with services.
