경찰공무원의 자살노출이 자살생각에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 우울감의 매개효과를 중심으로

경찰공무원 자살률이 증가하고 있는 추세인 것으로 나타났다. 경찰공무원은 우리나라의 높은 자살률로 미루어 동료, 친구, 가족에 의한 직접적인 자살노출과 더불어 근무 중 자살사건을 처리하면서 경험하는 간접적 자살노출을 경험할 수 있으며 이러한 자살노출은 경찰공무원에게 부정적 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 이 연구에서는 경찰공무원의 자살노출이 자살생각에 미치는 영향과 자살노출과 자살생각과의 관계에서 우울감의 매개효과를 분석하였다. 연구결과 동료, 친구, 가족 등과 같은 친밀감이 높은 사람의 직접적인 자살노출이 경찰공무원의 자살생각에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 경찰공무원 자살에 대한 예방적 정책에서 가까운 동료, 친구 가족 등에 의한 자살노출에 대한 사후개입의 필요성을 보여주고 있다. 또한, 자살노출과 자살생각의 관계에서 우울감의 매개효과가 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는 경찰공무원의 자살예방을 위해 자살노출에 대한 사후개입과 더불어 경찰공무원의 우울감에 대한 관리의 필요성을 보여준다.
Abstract
The psychological difficulties suffered by police officers after being directly(exposure by peers and family) or indirectly(exposure during work) exposed to suicide. Previous research shows that exposure to suicide may be a important factor associated with suicide. This study examined the impact of police officer's exposures to suicide on suicidal ideation, and mediating effect of depressive mood in the relationship between suicide exposures and suicidal ideation using by self-reported survey data from 188 police officers randomly selected in South Korea. The data analyses were conducted using SPSS 23. The result shows that exposure to suicide by peers, friends and family members had a significant effect on suicidal ideation(β=.311, p<.001), and that there found a mediating effect of depressive mood. These findings suggest that postvention program needs to prevent police officer's suicide who were exposed to other's suicidal ideation, attempt and completion. and it is necessary to apply the developed program to reduce depressive mood.
