본 연구는 부모의 이혼진행과정에서 나타나고 있는 아동의 내면화외현화 문제에 영향을 미친 요인과 아동의 긍정적 변화에 영향을 미친 가족치료의 효과성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 본 연구는 이혼 직전의 부부문제로 갈등을 겪고 있는 가족을 대상으로 2008년 4월부터 8월까지 총 9회기 동안 남편, 부인, 딸, 아들을 대상으로 개별상담, 부부상담, 가족상담을 진행한 가족치료 사례를 질적 자료분석 방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 부모의 이혼진행과정에서 아동은 주의산만, 거짓말, 학교생활부적응, 반항적 태도, 회피, 도벽과 같은 외현화 문제와 불안, 무서움, 죄책감, 서운함, 속상함과 같은 내면화 문제가 나타나고 있었다. 이와 같은 아동의 문제행동에 영향을 미친 요인은 문제를 해결하기 위해 반복적으로 시도해왔던 부부의 역기능적인 의사소통방식, 역기능적인 양육방식과 아동의 부부갈등 상황 지각인 것으로 분석되었다. 이에 대한 치료자의 개입은 부부의 새로운 의사소통방식의 사용, 부부관계의 개선, 부부의 새로운 양육방식의 사용, 아동이 지각한 부부갈등의 완화, 아동의 내면화외현화 문제가 해소되는데 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것으로 살펴볼 수 있다.
Abstract
A family came to therapy for nine sessions over five months. Prior to the first appointment, the parents were contemplating divorce and one of the children was experiencing problems, both internal (anxiety, guilt, regret) and external (inattention, lying, defiance, stealing, maladjustment to school). The therapist assessed the child’s problems to be a function of the parents’ negative communication method, ineffectual solution attempts, and negative parenting methods. The therapist, grounded in a family systems-based approach, intervened using MRI techniques. As a result, the couple’s conflict lessened enough for the child to notice, they implemented new parenting methods, and the child’s internal and external symptoms improved.
