국내외 가족치료 학술지에 나타난 성과연구 분석: 2005년에서 2010년까지 발표된 연구를 중심으로

초록

본 연구는 최근 가족치료 분야에서 성과연구(outcome research)의 필요성이 점차 중시되고 있는 상황에서 2005년부터 2010년까지 최근 6년 동안 국내외 가족치료 분야 주요 학술지들에 발표된 연구논문을 대상으로 가족치료 성과연구의 방법론적 경향을 분석해 보는 것으로 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 6년간 AJFT, JMFT, 그리고 KJFT에 발표된 총 467편의 연구논문 중 성과연구에 해당하는 46편(9.9%)에 대해 고찰하였다. 그 결과 AJFT는 7편, JMFT는 17편, 그리고 KJFT는 22편이 성과연구로 나타났으며, 이들 연구들에서 가족치료 성과여부를 측정하기 위해 사용한 연구방법은 실험연구, 조사연구, 질적연구, 사례연구, 혼합연구의 다섯 가지 유형으로 분류되었다. 또한 실험연구는 4편, 조사연구는 13편, 질적연구는 12편, 사례연구는 13편, 혼합연구는 4편으로 나타나, 분석대상 성과연구에서는 실험연구나 혼합연구에 비해 조사연구, 질적연구, 사례연구가 주로 많이 적용되어 왔음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 성과연구가 가족치료 분야에서 좀 더 활발하게 이루어질 필요가 있으며, 가족치료자들은 자신들의 개입에 대한 효과성 검증을 위해 방법론적 다원화를 모색할 필요가 있음을 제안하였다.

Abstract

Objectives: This methodological review was conducted to determine the extent to which outcome research on marriage and family therapy (MFT) appears in MFT journals and to illuminate the types of research design being utilized in the outcome reports of various family therapy models. Methods: To highlight the clinical and professional relevance of existing outcome research, the researchers reviewed six years of clinical research in three major MFT journals. Results: The results suggest that MFT outcome research is under-represented in major review articles. Conclusions: Clinicians can use a variety of methodologies to establish the outcomes of their work, and more research is needed to investigate how and why MFT works in real world settings. Clinical and research implications are discussed.
