Abstract
In the domestic passenger car sector, mobility platforms such as Uber and TADA, which led innovation, have faced setbacks due to conflicts with existing industry structures and legal regulations. As we enter an era of paradigm shifts driven by AI, future mobility policies must proactively respond to the Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) market, symbolized by the acronym ‘C.A.S.E.’ (Connected, Autonomous, Shared, Electric), in order to protect digital sovereignty and safeguard the domestic mobility industry while positioning it for future growth. Regulation and legislation concerning mobility should focus not on protecting specific competitors within the market but on fostering innovative institutional designs that efficiently promote global ‘competition for the market’.
