경쟁력 제고를 위한 동아시아 수도권 공간 계획과 개발방향 비교 연구 : 한국, 일본, 중국, 태국을 중심으로

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to suggest the future directions and strategies of the space planning and development for the Capital Metropolitan area in Korea. For this purpose this study reviews and compares the efforts that four metropolitan areas of asian countries have accomplished. This paper specially focuses on the four asian countries including Korea, Japan, China, and Tai. From the comparisons with the space and development strategies of four metropolitan regions of each country it draws the following suggestions for the Capital region of Korea.First, from the case of Japan the shift of a concept from control to cooperation on the development direction of the metropolitan region is suggested. It also considers the network system in space planning in order to solve the concentration problem. Secondly, China had established a management system of urban and rural integration through the large area development including the surrounding areas of the metropolitan area. It had also accomplished strategies inner city redevelopment distingushing the urban growth and development. Finally, from the case of Tai “global city" strategies are suggested through the cultural oriented development in spite of the many urban problems of the Tai metropolitan region.
