Abstract
The individual subjectivity is comprised in cognitive structure of humans, so human behaviors are affected by it. In aspect of this idea, the reasons of this study are that the patient's subjectivity with high blood pressure has diversity on perception and management behavior on high blood pressure. The aims of this study are to categorize patient's subjectivity on perception and management behaviors, to determine personal characteristics by category, then to be helped development of effective high blood pressure management programme. The study method is Q-methodological approach. The study population is 22 persons aged above 30 years old with high blood pressure(P-sample), we made 23 Q-sample statements, and then classified Q-sample statements into 7 points standard. The data was analysed using QUANL PC programme, an established Q methodology computer software programme, classified 4 types. The first type is 'effort on improving knowledge and management behaviors or high blood pressure'. The second type is 'value on side effect of drug or complication of high blood pressure'. The third type is 'dependent on referents'. The fourth type is 'burden with life style modification and lifelong intake of drug'. In conclusion, different strategy is needed according to type of patient's characteristics because preferred view of the patient's perception and management behaviors are different each other.
