초록

이 시대를 살고 있는 청소년 자녀들이 그들 자신과 부모 세대의 삶을 어떻게 인식하고 있는지에 대해 밝히고자, Q 방법론을 사용하여, 서울과 경기도에 소재한 중학교 3학년 남녀 청소년 40명을 대상으로 다음과 같은 주제를연구하였다. 첫째, 지금의 청소년들은 자신의 삶을 어떻게 생각하고 있는가? 둘째, 청소년 자녀가 바라본 부모세대의 모습은 어떤 형태로 나타나는가? 이 연구 결과, 한국의 청소년들은 그들의 눈에 긍정적으로 비친 부모의삶을 기반으로 현재의 자신과 미래에 대해 매우 긍정적인 시각을 가지고 있다는 것을 확인하였다. 청소년들이인식하는 자기의 모습에는 혁신, 재미, 만족, 순응의 네 가지 요인을, 그들이 바라본 부모 세대의 모습에서는 신념, 가족, 행복, 전념이라는 네 가지 요인을 기준으로 각 유형들을 분류할 수 있었다. 오늘날 한국의 청소년들과그들이 바라본 부모 세대에 대한 인식 유형을 탐색함으로써 과거와는 달라진 청소년들의 인식의 틀을 확인할수 있었고, 이를 바탕으로 지금의 청소년과 부모 세대 간의 상호작용 및 심리 역동적 특성을 이해함으로써, 오늘을 살고 있는 청소년들에게 어떤 가치를 우선적으로 선택하여 교육해야 하는지에 대한 실마리를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Abstract

This study explored the teenagers’ subjective perception of their self-images based on their parents’ images reflected by their lifestyle. The types of well-rounded aspects of teenagers’ lifestyle were classified by 40 middle school seniors as respondents. Using Q methodology, four different factors of self-images of adolescents and parental images were adapted and explored. Four factors of adolescents self-images are set as innovation, enjoyment, satisfaction and compliance. Four factors of parental images are set as conviction, family, happiness, and commitment to offspring and work. Currently, Korean teenagers have a very positive view of current and the future life based on their parents’ status. This study confirms the changes in teenagers’ cognition framework in the present which is much different from the past generation. Based on the results of this analysis, it is expected that practical and institutional implications are discussed to support and reconsider teenagers’ life in Korean society at present.
