본 연구는 Q방법론을 적용하여 흡연 여대생의 흡연에 대한 유형과 그 특성을 규명하였다. 50명의 흡연 여대생은 흡연에 대한 36개 진술문을 9점 척도 상에 강제분포 하였으며, 수집된 자료는 PC QUANL program을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 흡연 여대생의 흡연 태도는 4개의 유형으로 분류되었다. 다른 사람들이 흡연 사실에대해 아는 것을 염려하는 ‘타인의식형’, 니코틴 의존도가 높은 ‘흡연습관형’, 흡연을 통해 관계를 유지하고 있는 ‘관계추구형’, 흡연에 대해 후회하고 있는 ‘금연고려형’으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 최근 증가하고 있는흡연 여대생의 흡연 태도 유형에 따른 중재 프로그램 개발에 필요한 기초자료로 제공하며, 흡연 여대생의 흡연에 대한 주관성 구조를 파악했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study aimed to verify the types and characteristics of smoking among female college student smokers by applying the Q methodology. Thus, 50 female college student smokers were asked to write 36 statements, following which, the forced distribution method was applied to these statements using 9-point scale. The collected data were analyzed using the PC QUANAL program. The subjective characteristics of female college student smokers with reference to smoking were classified as follows: TypeⅠ included the ‘other-conscious type’ of individuals who would not smoke in front of adults to avoid revealing that they smoked. Type Ⅱ included the ‘habitual smoking type’ of individuals, whose nicotine dependency was high and they viewed cigarettes as favorite food. Type Ⅲ included the ‘relationship-pursuing type’ of individuals who had many smokers around them and would maintain relationships by smoking together. Type Ⅳ included the ‘nonsmoking-considering type’ of individuals who regretted smoking and considered quitting smoking as they recognized its hazards. This study is of significance in that it examines the structure of subjectivity of female college student smokers, whose number has been increasing recently.
