음악치료사의 자기초점적 주의 성향이 심리적 소진에 미치는 영향: 공감능력의 매개효과

초록

이 연구는 음악치료사의 자기초점적 주의 성향, 공감능력, 그리고 심리적 소진의 관계와 자기초점적 주의 성향이 심리적 소진에 미치는 영향에서 공감능력의 매개효과를 규명하고자 하였다. 임상현장에서 일하고 있는 전문 음악치료사 95명을 대상으로 설문조사가 실시되었으며 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 음악치료사의 자기초점적 주의 성향이 심리적 소진에 미치는 영향에 대해 자기몰입 성향은 심리적 소진과 가장 큰 정적 관계를, 일반적 자기초점적 주의 성향은 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자기초점적 주의 성향이 공감능력에 미치는 영향에 대해 일반적 자기초점적 주의 성향, 자기몰입 성향 모두 공감능력에 유의한 영향력을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 공감능력이 심리적 소진에 미치는 영향력에 대해 공감능력은 심리적 소진에 유의한 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 자기초점적 주의 성향과 심리적 소진의 관계에서 공감능력의 매개효과를 검증한 결과, 공감능력은 자기몰입 성향과 심리적 소진과의 관계에서 완전 매개역할을 하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between dispositional self-focused attention, empathy, and burnout of music therapists and the mediating effects of empathy on the variables. In this study, dispositional self-focused attention, empathy, and burnout were measured in 95 music therapy professionals in clinical practice and the following results were obtained. First, burnout was most significantly positively associated with self-committed disposition and was negatively affected by general dispositional self-focused attention. Self-committed disposition significantly affected all the subscales of burnout (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and the decreased personal accomplishment) and general dispositional self-focused attention significantly affected emotional exhaustion and depersonalization. Secondly, both general dispositional self-focused attention and self-committed disposition significantly affected empathy. Thirdly, empathy significantly negatively affected burnout. Lastly, empathy completely mediated the relationships between self-committed disposition and burnout.
