이 연구는 1987년에서 2008년까지 영문 저널과 박사논문, 그리고 박사학위논문에서 발표된 현상학적 음악치료 연구에 대한 분석이다. 리뷰는 1)기본정보, 2)연구형태, 3)주제와 이슈의 3영역으로 나누었으며, 다시 하위영역으로 분류하여, 기본정보에서는 연구가 게재된 저널, 발간연도, 발간당시 저자의 학위와 대학, 국적으로 분류하였고, 주제와 이슈는 연구대상과 분야, 음악치료의 방법, 데이터 수집법, 데이터 분석법, 최종적으로 논의하고자 하는 주제 등으로 분류하여 살펴보았다. 연구결과로, 현상학적 연구는 지속적으로 적은 편수의 연구가 행해지고 있으며, 치료활동을 통한 클라이언트의 내면경험과 음악치료사 개인의 경험에 관한 내용이 주를 이루고 있었다. 가장 많이 사용된 치료활동은 즉흥연주가, 그리고 데이터 수집방법은 인터뷰와 기록을 통한 방법이었다.
Abstract
This article is a comprehensive analysis of phenomenological music therapy research studies published in music therapy journals, and doctoral dissertations. The review focuses on three areas: basic informations, type of study, and topic & issues. Important conclusion is that phenomenological studies have few, but continuously been published over 20 years. Phenomenological studies mainly search for profound inner experiences of clients and therapists. The most frequently used data collecting methods include interview and documentation
