최근 심각한 아동학대 사건들이 언론에 지속적으로 보도되고 사회적인 관심이 집중되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 아동학대의 위험 요인들을 분석하고 아동학대의 대책을 마련하기 위한 연구의 필요성에 대해 논의하고자 하였다. 아동 학대에 대해 이전에 이루어진 연구들과 통계적인 분석을 바탕으로 아동의 신체적 학대의 위험 요인으로 양육태도의 문제 및 양육지식의 부족, 사회경제적 스트레스와 스트레스에 대한 인지, 그리고 성격적 특성 및 정신장애에 대해 논의하였다. 그리고 아동학대에 대한 대책 마련을 위해 아동학대에 대한 세 가지의 연구에 대한 필요성을 논의하였다. 첫째, 아동학대 사례, 학대 가해자와 피해 아동, 관련 기관 종사자 등에 대해 지속적이고 다양한 연구가 이루어져야 한다. 둘째, 국가적인 아동 학대 전산 시스템을 구축하고 관련 기관이 정보를 공유할 수 있는 제도적인 장치가 필요하다. 셋째, 학대 사례에 대한 구체적인 정보와 통계치도 지속적으로 수집해야 한다.
Abstract
Recent reports and media coverages on serious child abuse cases significantly impacting Korean society. The purpose of this study is to examine risk factors for child maltreatment and to discuss need for research on child maltreatment countermeasurest in Korea. Based on the previous research studies and statistical analyses of current child abuse cases, three risk factors of child physical maltreatment were discussed: 1) parenting difficulties and lack of knowledge in child rearing practice, 2) Socio-ecomonical stress and perception of stress, and 3) personality characteristics and mental disorders. Furthermore, need for research on child maltreatment for providing future countermeasures were also discussed. First, research studies on child maltreatment should be continuously provided in order to provide various social support child abusers and victims. Second, it is important to equip a system to share core information on child abusers and victims among related agencies and care providers for preventing further victimization. Third, statistics on child maltreatment should be collected to estimate its prevalence in order to estimate social cost and budgets related to child maltreatment countermeasures.
