여성 노인의 취약성이 범죄피해 두려움에 미치는 영향: 지역 환경의 조절효과를 중심으로

초록

본 연구는 여성 노인을 중심으로 범죄피해 두려움에 미치는 영향요인을 규명하고자 하였다. 특히 여성 노인에게 있어서 육체적 기능의 감퇴와 사회적 역할 및 기능의 상실 등 취약성을 중심으로 범죄피해 두려움에 미치는 영향요인을 살펴보았다. 또한 여성 노인의 취약성이 오랜 기간 거주한 지역의 환경에 따른 상호작용이 어떻게 작용하는가를 살펴보았다. 그리고 범죄피해 두려움을 밤 늦은 시간을 중심으로 일상생활에 따른 일반적 범죄피해 두려움과 절도, 사기, 폭력 등 다양한 범죄 유형에 따른 구체적 범죄피해 두려움으로 구분하여 살펴보았다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하고자 한국형사정책연구원의 전국 범죄피해조사 데이터의 여성 노인을 중심으로 실증적 연구를 수행하였다. 연구결과 여성 노인의 취약성은 일반적 범죄피해 두려움에 영향을 미치며, 지역환경의 무질서 및 경찰신뢰는 일반적 범죄피해 두려움에 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었다. 하지만 본 연구의 주된 목적인 여성노인의 취약성과 지역환경의 상호작용은 일반적 범죄피해 두려움에 있어서는 통계적으로 유의미하지 않은 것으로 조사되었다. 여성 노인의 취약성은 구체적 범죄피해 두려움에 영향을 미치며, 지역환경의 이웃 유대, 지역 무질서, 지역 경찰신뢰 등 모든 요인이 구체적 범죄피해 두려움에 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었다. 또한 본 연구의 주된 목적인 여성 노인의 취약성과 지역환경의 상호작용에 있어서 취약성과 이웃유대, 취약성과 무질서가 구체적 범죄피해 두려움에 영향을 미치는 것으로 조사되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로 여성 노인의 취약성과 지역환경의 관계를 실증적으로 규명함으로써 경찰 및 지역사회의 치안 정책 수립에 있어 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors influencing the fear of crime damage, focusing on the older women. In particular, factors affecting the fear of crime victims were examined, focusing on vulnerability, such as decline in physical function and loss of social roles and functions in older women. In addition, we looked at how the interaction of older women according to the environment of the area where they lived for a long time works. In addition, the fear of crime was divided into general fear of crime in daily life and specific fear of crime according to various types of crime such as theft, fraud, and violence, focusing on late at night. In order to achieve this research purpose, an empirical study was conducted focusing on the older women in the national crime victim survey data of the Korea Criminal Policy Research Institute. As a result of the study, it was investigated that the vulnerability of older women affects the general fear of crime, and disorder in the local environment and trust in the police affects the general fear of crime. However, the main purpose of this study, the interaction between the vulnerability of older women and the local environment, was found to be statistically insignificant in terms of general fear of crime. The vulnerability of older women affects the fear of specific crime victims, and all factors such as neighborhood bonds in the local environment, regional disorder, and trust in the local police were found to affect the specific fear of crime victims. In addition, in the interaction between the vulnerability of older women and the local environment, which is the main purpose of this study, it was investigated that vulnerability, ties to neighbors, vulnerability and disorder affect specific fear of crime. Based on the results of this study, by empirically examining the relationship between the vulnerability of older women and the local environment, it can be used as basic data for establishing police and local security policies.
