교사는 기술을 통해 학생에 닿을 수 있는가?: 비대면 시대, 교사의 실존적 위기에 대한 현상학적 보고

COVID-19 감염병의 유행은 비대면 교육 시대를 한층 앞당겼다. 이 과정에서 연구자는 교사로서 비대면 교육에 새롭게 적응하면서 위기감을 느끼게 되었는데, 이 연구는 이 위기감에 대한 것이다. 비대면 상황에서 교수자가 느끼는 위기감의 실체는 무엇인지, 어디로부터 오는 것인지에 대한 현상학적 연구를 수행하기 위해 강의 동영상 제작, 실시간 화상강의, LMS 활용 등 비대면 교육 상황에서 연구자가 했던 작업과 그 과정에서 겪었던 일련의 경험을 기술한다. 그리고 하이데거의 기술철학을 활용하여 이 새로운 경험이 무엇을 의미하는지 해석한다. 교사는 비대면 시대에 자신이 학생들에 닿아있음을 느끼지 못하면서 위기감을 감지하게 되는데, 이를 하이데거의관점에서 해석하면 교사는 비대면 교육의 배경을 이루고 있는 현대 기술의 영향, 즉 현대 기술의 본질인 ‘닦달' 의 영향으로 부품화된 자신의 존재를 느끼게 되는 것이다. 비대면 교육 시대에 교사가 학생에 닿기 위해서는 자신의 삶 속에 포이에시스의 시간들을 축적하여 학생들 앞에 자신의 존재를 열어 보이는 자신만의 예술적 교수법을 개발해야 함을 제안한다.
Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has advanced the era of non-face-to-face education. In this scenario, this study focuses on the resulting sense of crisis in me as a teacher. To conduct a phenomenological study on this sense of crisis and its origin, my own teaching experience is analyzed, including lecture video production, real-time video classes, and learning management system (LMS) use. Additionally, Heidegger's philosophy of technology is drawn on to encapsulate what this new experience means. In the light of this philosophy, the sense of crisis is to perceive teacher's existence, which has become a ‘standing reserve’ due to the influence of the essence of modern technology, ‘enframing (Gestell),’ which forms the basis for non-face-to-face education. To reach students in this era, this study suggests that teachers should develop their own teaching techne that reveals their presence in front of students by accumulating the hours of poiesis in their lives.
