초록

본 연구는 자본 축적의 동학이 노동시장 구조 변화에 미친 영향을 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해서 자본스톡을 새로이 추계하였다. 분석을 통해서 자본 축적의 동학이 구조적 실업 및 노동시장의 분절과 밀접한 연관이 있음을 보여주었다. 특히 1997년 위기 이후 한국 자본주의의 구조적 특징이자 노동시장의 구조 변화에 영향을 미친 주요한 요인으로서 자본 축적률의 구조적 저하 그리고 기술진보 없는 이윤몫의 상승 현상에 주목한 뒤, 이들이 높은 구조적 실업을 동반함과 동시에 자본/노동 계급간 소득을 재분배하고 노동계급내 분절을 더욱 심화시키고 있음을 보여주었다. 이러한 분석 결과가 갖는 의의는 자본 축적의 동학을 통해서 노동시장 구조변화를 설명하는 것이 유용함을 밝힌데 있다.

Abstract

This paper analyses the long term trends of capital accumulation and their effects on the structural changes of labor market in Korea since 1970s. To that end, making up for the weak points of other studies, we newly estimate quarterly capital stock to periodize the Korean economy since 1970s. Based on this work, we analyse the fundamental trends of profit rate, productivity of capital, profit share, and capital-labor ratio to propose a periodization of the Korean capitalism from 1970 to 2008. And we find historical capitalism shows that systemic cycles of accumulation have been accompanied by structural unemployment and income redistribution. Especially the Korean economy is being characterized by very low rate of capital accumulation after the 1997 crisis. This means that dynamics of labor market reflects dynamics of capital accumulation.
