초록

여성의 사회적 지위향상과 청렴도간 관계가 존재하는지를 파악하고자 하는 목적에서 본 연구는 청렴도에 영향을 미치는 여성의 사회적 지위향상과 관련된 변수를 도출하고 정책방향을 설계하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 UNDP, 국제투명성기구 등에서 발간한 자료를 활용하여 194개 국가 및 지역을 대상으로 여성의 사회적 지위 향상과 관련된 변수로써 여성 국회의석비율, 여성 고위직비율, 여성 전문직비율, 남성대비 소득비율을, 통제변수로 국가의 경제력 지표인 1인당 GDP를 선정하여 청렴도와의 관계를 분석하였다. 분석결과 여성의 정치적 지위향상을 의미하는 여성국회의석비율과 국가의 경제력인 1인당 GDP가 청렴도에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 청렴도를 향상시키기 위해서는 여성의 정치계 진출을 적극적으로 모색하여야 하고 동시에 여성들의 전문성과 경력의 지속성을 뒷받침할 수 있는 제도적 장치의 마련과, 여성의 소득비율을 지속적으로 향상시키기 위하여 경제활동 등에 적극적으로 참여시키기 위한 정책적 노력이 필요함을 제안하였다.

Abstract

Using several independent data sets, we investigate the relationship between women's status improvement and Corruption Perceptions Index(CPI). Analysis show that corruption is less severe where women hold a lager share of parliamentary seats and high level GPD GDP per capita. in other words, we found that women's political status improvement and nation's economic level closely related to the improvement of government CPI level. women's senior posions in the government bureaucracy and women's share of the labor force are relatively less related to the improvement of government CPI level.
