시기에 따른 집단간의 차이는 two way repeated measure ANOVA와 ANCOVA를 통하여, 집단 내 시기에 따른 변화는 one way repeated measure ANOVA를 통하여 분석하였으며 유의수준은 0.05로 설정하였다.

Abstract

Strenuous eccentric exercise induces remarkable changes of plasma enzyme found in skeletal muscle, and also causes the development of soreness and the loss in muscle strength. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of body composition on CK, GOT, TC, and muscle function after strenuous eccentric exercise For this study 20 college students were volunteered and assigned to either an experimental obese group (n=10) or control normal group (n=10). Each group ran 10 min on -10% downhill and exercised 150 repetitions of maximal eccentric voluntary contraction at 90°/sec angular velocity using isokinetic dynamometer. CK, GOT, TC, ROM, and maximal isometric and eccentric peak torque were measured before and 2, 5 days after eccentric exercise. Group differences were analysed using repeated measure two way ANOVA and ANCOVA. One way repeated measure ANOVA was also used to determine the difference within each group. Alpha level was set at 0.05. Although no significant interaction effects were observed in plasma CK and GOT, obese group showed greater reduction rate compared with normal group. The significant interaction effects were found in ROM (p<.05), and normal group recovered to pre-exercise ROM level 5 days after maximal voluntary eccentric exercise. The significant interaction effects between groups were observed in isometric peak torque (p<.05), not in eccentric flexion peak torque. The obese group dropped significantly at greater rate than normal group in isometric peak torque (p<.05). It is concluded that body composition is not related to the magnitude of muscle damages caused by repeated bouts of non-locomotive type eccentric exercise.
