Abstract

Research methods have been the subject of on-going discussion in public administration in recent years. This study describes the role of research method in the major of public administration. Future public administrators probably will use social science statistics and computer techniques rather than management science techniques. Moreover, the quantitative techniques that are used may well be determined by the prewritten statistical packages that are available. Finally, the techniques incorporated by SPSS, SAS, BMDP, STAT, and Excel for computer-assisted quantitative analysis will be the ones most widely used by future administrators.
