Abstract

Park bong-woo is a poet who actively made an issue of ‘the partition of the Korean peninsula' under the effect of anti-communism ideology in the 1950s after his debut. He created ‘bad subject' to overcome uniform and dichotomous circumstances of discourse which contemporary anti-communism made and kept a critical distance from ruling ideology through 'counter-identification' of the subject. 'Bad subjects' in his poem showed that they tried not to be adopted by ruling ideology as to refuse and criticize general subjects which symbolize a country or nationality. Specifically, we found that 'Bad subject' has a role of collapsing anti-communism and privileged class possessing power. 'Subject' tried to overcome 'taboo' and 'control' of suppressed discourse constituents as well as a barrier of language-sociology. 'Bad subjects' which are eager for 'unity' and 'freedom' were appeared as flight subjects such as 'butterfly' or 'wild goose'. Those expressed a will that overcomes the dichotomous conflict of communism and democratic ideology by passing over 'good and bad' and 'enemy and myself'. Also, ‘a woman' and 'an orphan' as 'Bad subjects' created a critical distance from premodern ideology of the day which was subordinate to ruling ideology in order to break down privileged class possessing power. As a result, his poems in the 1950s partially contributed to the formation of contemporary resistance-discourse with 'counter-identification' even though they did not get to the role of 'mis-identification' for overturning ruling ideology. The important reason of his clear existence on participant poetry is that he created new discourse circumstance by making 'subjects' against control discourse rather than formed 'partition consciousness' in its simple context.
