이 글은 인공지능 전문가 시스템을 사례 삼아 대학 교양교육에서 생각해 보아야 할 문제들을 들추어내고자 한다. 인공지능 기술의 발전에 따라 광범위하게 활용되고 있는 전문가 시스템의 기본 아이디어는 인간 전문가의 지식과 경험을 절차적 지식으로 정의함으로써 컴퓨터 소프트웨어가 인간의 경험과 지식을 활용하 도록 한 것이다. 주목해야 할 사실은 인공지능 전문가 시스템은 여전히 인간이 만들어 내는 전문 지식들을 활용한다는 것이다. 만약 인공지능 전문가 시스템이 인간의 지식 생산을 위축시킬 수 있다면, 그것은 인간 전문가 시스템만이 아니라 인공지능 전문가 시스템 자체에게도 위기이다. 그렇다면 문제는 대학 교육이 지식 생산에 있어서 효과적인 역할을 할 수 있느냐이다. 최근 대학 교육의 중요한 키워드는 융합과 교양이다. 특히 교양교육은 학생들에게 빠르게 변화하고 있는 사회에 대처할 수 있는 지적 역량들을 길러주기 위해 다양한 노력을 기울이고 있다. 이와 관련하여 이 글은 테일러리즘에 대한 성찰을 통해 교양교육에서 강조되 어야 할 점이 무엇인지 보이고자 하였다.
Abstract
In this essay, I have tried to show what a main focus of general education of university is by a review of the expert system. The basic idea of expert system is that A.I. (as a expert system) use the knowledge of human expert. Namely, A.I. have to learn the knowledge of human expert. But the progress of the data science and the data processing technology set of the substitution of A.I expert for human expert. This substitution cause a crisis for human experts as well as A.I. expert system, because it endanger the knowledge production system. So, recently, the general education of university have focused on ‘convergence’ by the training of thinking skills. And ‘liberal arts education’ is nominated for an effective solution. But it seems to need a consideration. I have tried to show that we have to stress not mere thinking skills but the human skills.
