The Principles and Rules of Utilization of Environmental Resources according to the Qurʾān

In view of the fact that global environment is an integrated and an indivisible unit; incorrect and unsustainable utilizations, productions and consumptions in recent decades have created alarming conditions that concern everyone. The hazardous and destructive effects and consequences of this kind of usage and exploitation has exceeded carrying capacities and caused climate change and environmental degradation in different regions and harmed the ozone layer. The destructive methods of production and consumption are threatening our only beautiful and livable planet. The Qurʾān, the book of guidance,provides certain principles to overcome these challenging circumstances. This article aims at studying and introducing the most important principles of utilization of natural resources, including management of exploitation and grateful utilizations, preventing unsustainable consumptions, and defining standards and regulations concerning exploitation of natural resources from the Qurʾānic viewpoints.
