이 글은 한국 문학의 低開發 分野로 남아 있는 性的 慾望의 문제에 어떻게 접근할 수 있는가에 관해 槪略的으로 논의한 것이다. 섹슈얼리티sexuality가 최근의 중심적인 문화 코드로 떠올랐으면서도 한국 문학, 특히 1920~30년대 한국 근대문학 연구에는 아직 본격적으로 적용되지 않고 있다는 점에서, 이 글은 섹슈얼리티를 통해서 어떻게 한국 근대문학을 연구할 수 있는가를 眺望한 方法論的 試論의 성격을 띤다. 이때 섹슈얼리티는 단순히 성적 욕망 그 자체의 본질적인 문제가 아니라, 社會文化的인 談論과의 긴밀한 상관관계를 통해 의미를 갖는 다분히 流動的이고 時代的인 개념이다. 本稿에서는 이러한 전제 하에, 특히 한국 근대문학 연구에 있어서 섹슈얼리티가 近代的 主體의 성립과 女性性의 他者化라는 문제를 드러내는 데 매우 효과적인 것임을 槪括的으로 밝히고자 한다.
Abstract
The Relationships of Korean Modern Literature and Sexuality Shim, Jin-keong The purpose of this thesis is to reconsider the modernity of Korean Literature by making clear the characteristics of colonized sexuality and the constructive mechanism of modern subject by way of sexual discourse about male and female represented in the 1920～1930's novels. Sexuality is the multilayered concept related with gender, class, age, rule, and institution in the various sociocultural context. Specially, in this thesis, the main focus is that feminine sexuality is related with various sociocultural layers. So feminine sexuality represents multi- layered sexuality effectively. The methods that otherize female sexuality are picked out in the 1920～1930's novels, however as I thought, these still are helpful in approaching the female-oppressed. And these othering methods represents the false subjectivity of modern male which accompanies his position only through oppressing and policing female sexuality. Therefore, the analysis of female sexuality will be studied more deeply to make clear modernity of korean literature related sexuality, subjectivity, nation, class, etc.
