漢字는 國語 語彙의 根幹을 이루고 있으며, 漢字能力은 국어 讀解力과 作文力의 바탕이다. 현재 중고등학교의 敎育課程에는 미흡한 대로 漢字-漢文이 들어 있으나 매우 소홀히 다루어지고 있어, 대학에 입학하는 대다수 학생들이 敎材를 소화하는 데 어려움을 겪으며, 대학 교육 전반의 不實로 이어지는 것이 오늘날 우리의 현실이다. 대학생들도 이러한 문제점을 인식하고 있으며 漢字와 漢字敎育의 필요성을 인정하고 있다. 漢字 問題의 해결 없이는 大學敎育의 內實을 기대하기 어렵다. 초중고등학교에서의 基礎漢字를 포함하는 國語敎育의 정상화가 시급히 이루어져야겠고, 그러기까지는 각개 대학에서 최선의 방법과 내용을 가지고 학생들에게 단단한 漢字 基礎를 지니게 함으로써 낙후된 우리네 대학교육의 질적 수준을 끌어올리도록 해야겠다.
Abstract
The Actual Circumstances and Prospects of the Basic Hanja-education in College Moon, Moo-young Hanja forms the keynote of Korean vocabulary, and the capacity of Hanja is based on an ability of reading and writing comprehension of Korean language. Hanja-education has been included in the curriculum of middle and high school which is quite insufficient in these days. Since Hanja-education has been treated neglectfully, many of freshmen in college have difficulties in understanding their textbook. Also this is the actual circumstance that this problem causes the weakness of college education. College students recognize this problem, and admit the necessity of Hanja and Hanja-education. College education doesn't expect to be improved without solving this problem. Education of Korean language including a basic Hanja has to be straightened without delay, thus each college should make an effort for every student to build up the solid basis of Hanja, to raise the quality level of college education which has been lagged behind.
