楚亭 朴齊家의 味論 詩學과 無味論

Abstract

The paper deals with the study on the Taste poetics of Park Jae-ga, primarily based on Hyeon-hak-sa-sang[玄學思想], or the meta- physics of the ancient philosophical Taoism. My view suggests that the Taste poetics of Park, Jae-ga who searched the eternity with regard to Mu-mi[無味], or Tastelessness with its roots on the Gwi-mu-ron[貴無論], or the art of Nondoing(無爲) which is to let nature take its course, by the School of metaphysics(玄學) in the era of Chinese six Dynasties, could not be represented by the literary theory of Confucianists. The Taste poetics of Park Jae-ga like the poetics of Lee Deok-mu is focused on the beauty of nature, which refers not to the artificial nature, but to the true character being the nature in the raw. His search for the beauty was such that he could stand negative towards the moral-bound society manipulated artificially by Confucianists. Also his negative attitude on the reality was interpreted as the tendency for modernization characterized by bolstering the interests of the bourgeoise burgeoning under the specific historical background in the latter part of feudal age. Therefore, it is on such grounds that the poets belonged to Buk-hak-pa[北學派], or the School of North Learning including Park Jae-ga were recognized as the forerunners of the national modern literature. It is also anticipated that this study could offer a role in finding them in their right place in the history of literature.
