歷史意識 不在의 史書 읽기와 懷古的 感情의 消費에 대한 批判 －「愁城誌」를 읽는 한 가지 방법－

林悌의 「愁城誌」는 歷史/歷史書 읽기의 문제를 다루고 있는 작품이다. 작자는 天君과 그의 역사서 읽기, 歷史上 實存 人物의 登場과 이들에 대한 천군의 태도, 愁城의 축조와 麴襄에 의한 愁城의 陷落 등을 그려내었다. 그리고 이를 통해 천군의 역사서 읽기가 진지한 歷史意識을 바탕으로 是非와 得失을 따져 현재를 새롭게 인식하는 것으로 나아가지 못하고, 역사를 단순히 과거의 사실을 모아 놓은 옛 이야기로만 머물게 하여 感傷에 젖어 懷古的인 感情을 消費하는 것임을 批判하였다. 그런데 작자는 여기에서 그치지 않았다. 麴襄에 의해 愁城이 陷落되고, 성안의 모든 이들이 降伏함에도 불구하고 오로지 屈原만은 不服하고 逃走한다. 굴원의 이러한 행위는 역사의 현재성을 상징적으로 보여주는 것이다. 그는 어디에선가 또 다른 愁城을 쌓아 역사가 과거가 아닌 바로 지금, 우리 옆에 있는 것임을 말하게 될 것이기 때문이다.
Abstract
This work Suseongji throws such a question as "what is the meaning of history and its reading?" In this work, Ym Je, the author deals with such things as Cheongun and his reading of history, historical figures' appearance and Cheongun's treatment, construction of Suseong and surrender by Gookyang, which criticize that the reading of history without the historical consciousness is just a spend of retrospective sentiment. Especially the chosen situation setting for this work is a drinking party. Usually at the party, the noise of talk and laughter is uproarious and the retrospective sentiment is spent. We can get a sense of the author's excellence through this. However, the author sends us one more message. Though the sur- render of people in Suseong, Goolwon never submitted to it, he was disobedient to that situation and fled. It symbolize that history is not the past, but the present, because Goolwon would build another Suseong in somewhere.
