熱情的 사랑의 逆說과 存在의 悲劇性 － 崔勝子 詩를 중심으로 －

Abstract

Choi Seung-Ja is said to be the first poet whose deconstruction of a traditional aura of love poetry has raised the theme of love to a prob- lematic. This discussion has put a focus on illuminating a paradoxical meaning in which her poetry has implied, and then a sense of the tragic existence in its result, by analyzing concrete modes of passionate love that her poetry has revealed. Her love poetry has been to make itself a type of passionate love that has not ever been able to be discovered in Korean poetry. It has started with exposing repeatedly a vague poetic situation of separation or farewell to a concreteness of ‘to be deserted.’ This poetic situation of ‘to be deserted’ has become a psychological base to fever a desire for making love rebirth. By the way the loved one in her poetry has not been an ideal being who has been represented as the ‘perfect.’ This poet has strengthened the martyrdom of lover by erasing the aesthetic quality from the loved one and exposing the hypocrisy and violence of him. In her poetry the death drive has accompanied when the rebirth of love has repeatedly failed. But her death drive has not led to the sublime aesthetics with which would have adorned the finale of her passionate love. The tragic cognition of this poet has lain where even her aesthetic death has not been able to be realized. In this situation the temporal cognition of this poet has become a signification of the falling time that has led the spiritless self. The passionate love that Choi Seung-Ja’s poetry has revealed is to be appreciated as the case of adding a very important meaning to the history of Korean poetry, in terms of not only that love that has clued to understand her tragic poetry but also the first signal flare of a symptom of love poetry that has utterly differed from the established love poetry with which has been fixed up the moderate aesthetics of temperance.
